[ITALIANO] Ho iniziato a suonare la chitarra all’età di 15 anni dopo una parentesi trascorsa inizialmente sulla batteria, complice l’influenza di mio zio che già suonava in una band! L’ascolto dei dischi dei miei genitori (Dire Straits, Santana, Michael Jackson e Pink Floyd per citarne alcuni) mi aiutò ad avvicinarmi gradualmente a questo strumento mantenendo al tempo stesso un forte interesse per tutta la musica con un forte carattere ritmico. Ad ogni modo fu l’incontro col disco “Flyin’ In A Blue Dream” di Joe Satriani nel 1989 a sconvolgermi totalmente: la chitarra si poteva suonare davvero in quel modo?!?!

Seguirono alcuni anni di studio privato anche se ben presto decisi di iscrivermi all’Accademia di Chitarra Moderna Lizard, a Fiesole (FI). Grazie al supporto didattico fornito e al valore umano di insegnanti come Alex Stornello e Michael Mellner perfezionai la mia teoria e tecnica musicale. Dopo poco tempo iniziai io stesso a dare lezioni di chitarra oltre ad intensificare l’attività live che aveva contribuito molto ad allargare il giro delle mie conoscenze.

Parallelamente sviluppai interesse anche per il mondo della tecnologia, dell’effettistica e del “sound engineering”: in questo settore ho avuto il piacere di una collaborazione attiva per anni con lo “STUDIO LAB” di Sergio Taglioni. Grazie alle esperienze maturate sul campo ho potuto approfondire la materia e mettere in pratica tutto quello che avevo studiato; inoltre iniziai ad avere l’occasione di effettuare i primi turni di studio come “session-man” per clienti che avevano bisogno di registrare parti di chitarra per le loro produzioni.

Da anni collaboro con l’azienda “FXCASE” di CLAUDIO CURCIO (Massimo Varini, Federico Poggipollini, Andrea Rigonat, Carmen Consoli, Thomas Blug), per la progettazione e la realizzazione di pedalboard e loop professionali per chitarristi. Insieme negli anni abbiamo testato e migliorato i vari prodotti in modo da renderli sempre più performanti e commerciabili. Da pochi mesi sono uno dei fortunati possessori del modello LOOPER 3.0, macchina ricca di funzionalità e capace di regalare grandi soddisfazioni!

Nel corso degli anni ho militato in svariate formazioni musicali con le quali ho avuto modo di suonare nei contesti più disparati come locali di musica dal vivo, piazze, festival ed eventi di vario genere.

Dal 2004 al 2009 sono stato chitarrista della band “FOR YOU” insieme ad ILARIA DELLA BIDIA (cantante e performer per la Rai, attualmente in tour con ANDREA BOCELLI) e FABIO SALVI (turnista ed orchestrale per produzioni Rai a fianco del Maestro PINUCCIO PIRAZZOLI). Come esclusiva “House Band” della famosa “LA CAPANNINA di FRANCESCHI” di Forte dei Marmi, quella fu la prima occasione per suonare insieme ad artisti di fama nazionale ed internazionale.

Dal 2005 entrai a far parte dei THE BLACKLIES, band alternative rock Toscana con la quale ho registrato 2 dischi e 2 EP. Svariate anche le partecipazioni live nazionali, tra le più prestigiose: METAROCK Festival, PISTOIA BLUES Festival, AREZZO PLAY Festival, LUCCA SUMMER Festival. Nel 2006 la band vinse il contest SUMMER GIOVANI di Lucca organizzato in collaborazione col Summer Festival come “miglior band” e anche come “MIGLIOR CHITARRISTA”. La band ha avuto modo di esibirsi anche all’estero nel 2013 in occasione del tour promozionale per l’uscita del disco “KENDRA”.

Sempre nel 2005 venni chiamato a prendere parte alla band per il nuovo spettacolo live di DOMINIQUE FIDANZA (ex- LOLLIPOP, girl-band famosa per qualche anno grazie ad uno dei primi talent di Italia 1, “Popstar”). In quell’occasione il tour estivo toccò alcune tra le principali città d’Italia, isole comprese.

Dal 2008 al 2011 sono stato chitarrista anche di un’ altra band, I SUPER ANGELS, capitanata dall’amico e grande vocalist Maurizio Santini. Con loro ho avuto il piacere di condividere il palco per diversi show e di partecipare alla realizzazione di 2 videoclip entrambi trasmessi in “Heavy Rotation” televisiva su ALL MUSIC e radiofonica su VIRGIN RADIO.

Da sempre collaboro con musicisti/produttori/studi di registrazione per la realizzazione di provini, pre-produzioni, produzioni per clienti privati e per la TV. In questo ambito ho avuto il piacere di collaborare per qualche anno con PIERPAOLO GUERRINI (proprietario dello Studio Centauro e compositore da sempre per ANDREA BOCELLI.)

Da Gennaio 2017 collaboro attivamente con la GABESCO PUBLISHING di Francesco De Santi in qualità di “Responsabile del settore e dello sviluppo Produzioni Musicali per TV e Pubblicità”. Un’ottima occasione questa per conciliare il mio classico lato di musicista con quello invece più manageriale sviluppatosi nel corso del tempo grazie alla gestione della band THE BLACKLIES e ad altre esperienze lavorative.

Attualmente mi diverto in giro per la Toscana e l’Italia suonando con “Bluesugar Zucchero Tribute Band” e con “Pianeta Zero” Renato Zero Tribute.

[ENGLISH] I started playing the guitar at the age of 15, after a brief experience on the drums, mysteriously influenced by my uncle who was already playing in a rock band! Listening to my parents records (Dire Straits, Santana, Michael Jackson and Pink Floyd to name a few) helped me gradually approach this instrument while maintaining an interest in all music with a strong rhythmic character. However, it was Joe Satriani’s “Flyin ‘In A Blue Dream” album in 1989 to totally upset me: the guitar could actually sound that way?!?!

Several years of private studies, then I soon decided to join the Modern Guitar Academy of Lizard in Fiesole (FI). Thanks to the teaching support provided and to the human value of teachers such as Alex Stornello and Michael Mellner, I perfected my musical theory and guitar technique. Shortly afterwards I began to give my personal guitar lessons besides intensifying live activity that had contributed greatly to widening my musical contacts in town.

At the same time, I was also interested in the uprising world of technology, sound processing and sound engineering: I had the opportunity to work actively for some years with Sergio Taglioni’s “STUDIO LAB”. Thanks to that experience I could go deep into the subject and practice everything I had studied. Besides I did my first takes as “session-man” for customers who needed to record guitar parts for their productions.

Since 2011 I have been working with the company “FXCASE” by CLAUDIO CURCIO (Massimo Varini, Federico Poggipollini, Andrea Rigonat, Carmen Consoli, Thomas Blug) for the design and production of pedalboards and professional loops for guitarists. Over the years we have tested and improved various products in order to make them more productive and marketable. Since few months now I am one of the lucky owners of the LOOPER 3.0 model, a machine full of functionality and capable of delivering great satisfactions!

Through the time, I have been involved with many bands with which I have been able to play in most contexts such as clubs, music venues, squares, festivals and tv events.

From 2004 to 2009 I was the guitarist of the band “FOR YOU” together with ILARIA DELLA BIDIA (singer and performer for italian Rai TV, currently on tour with ANDREA BOCELLI) and FABIO SALVI (Rai TV and orchestral player alongside Master PINUCCIO PIRAZZOLI) . As the exclusive “House Band” of the famous “LA CAPANNINA di FRANCESCHI” by Forte dei Marmi, this was the first time for me to play together with some national and international artists.

Since 2005 I have been part of THE BLACKLIES, an alternative rock band with whom I recorded 2 albums and 2 EP’s. Some of the most important live shows include: METAROCK Festival, PISTOIA BLUES Festival, AREZZO PLAY Festival, LUCCA SUMMER Festival. In 2006, the band won the SUMMER GIOVANI contest (organized in collaboration with the famous Lucca Summer Festival) as “best band” and also as “BEST GUITARPLAYER”. The band also had the chance to perform abroad in 2013 after the release of the album “KENDRA”.

Still in 2005 I was invited to join the band for the new DOMINIQUE FIDANZA’s live Show (ex-LOLLIPOP member, a famous italian girl-band after winning one of the first music talent shows, “Popstar”). The summer tour touched some of the main italian cities, including the islands.

Since 2008 to 2011 I joined another alternative rock band called SUPER ANGELS, led by my close friend and great vocalist Maurizio Santini. I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with those guys for several great shows and to take part of two music videoclips, both in “Heavy Rotation” on italian ALL MUSIC TV and famous rock radio station VIRGIN RADIO.

I have always worked with musicians / producers / recording studios for the production of different music styles, pre-productions for albums, productions for TV. I was pleased to work intensely for a few years with PIERPAOLO GUERRINI (owner of Studio Centauro and composer since a long time for ANDREA BOCELLI).

Since 2017 I started working full time with GABESCO PUBLISHING by Francesco De Santi as “Head of Industry and Music Production for TV and Advertising”. This is now such a great chance for me to fit my typical musician side with the more managerial one that has evolved over the years, thanks to bands management and other work experiences.

Recently I am also enjoying so much playing through Tuscany and Italy with “Bluesugar Zucchero Tribute” and “Pianeta Zero Tribute”.
